Show some love by letting your children create colorful hearts out of clay.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups of salt
4 cups of flour
1 ½ cups of water
Red and blue food coloring
Heart-shaped cookie cutter
- In a bowl, mix salt and flour. Gradually add water. Divide the clay into two bowls.
- Poke a hole into the top of each dough mound. In the first bowl, place 4-6 drops of red food coloring into the hole. In the second bowl, place 4 drops of red food coloring and 4 drops of blue food coloring (this will create purple). Knead with your hands until colors spreads throughout!
- Press the red clay onto a piece of wax paper until it is about 2 inches thick. Use cookie cutters to cut out hearts. Use the purple dough to decorate each heart. You can form the dough into letters or animals or anything you like.
- Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 17 minutes at 300!
